ZumoDrive is a harbinger of the new world of cloud computing
Zumodrive lets me access them (even via iTunes) in a way that makes them appear local. And when it comes to netbooks and mobile devices with very limited hard drive space, Zumodrive is a Godsend.
I especially like the audio streaming support in the iPhone app — if your library has DRM-free music like mine does, you can stream tunes from the cloud to your iPhone.
It’s the file spoofing that makes the leap for ZumoDrive. The ability to ‘have’ 200gb of files accessible without actually storing them directly and fully in your device memory.
So far I really like the service. It's a snap to set up and use, and it does solve the problem of storage-challenged PCs and iPhones.
The interface is intuitive, you can easily keep files locally and there’s excellent integration between web-stored music files and iTunes on your local computer.
Now you’ll be able to access your media from wherever you are regardless of the storage capacity of the device you’re on... your 16GB netbook could feasibly have access to 100GB and your 16GB iPhone could have 500GB of accessible music.
... ZumoDrive handles them in a totally awesome manner with their built in online photo gallery. Just link to the folder of photos you want to show and the rest is done automatically.
On the same note, if your laptop is stolen all you have to do is install ZumoDrive on another computer, type in your user name and password, and your files will be restored in minutes!
