Uninstall instructions to remove all files for Windows and Mac would be appreciated. Including MacFUSE removal.

Roy,
Windows comes with an uninstaller that will remove everything. On the Mac, we don’t have an uninstaller now, but here’s the list of things to do
- Remove ZumoDrive from startup items – right click on tray icon, uncheck open at login
- Uninstall MacFUSE using the preference pane, remove the preference pane afterwards
- Remove ZumoDrive the application from /Applications
- Remove the directory: ~/Library/Application Support/ZumoDrive
- Remove the preferences file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.zecter.configuration.plist
We also install growl on the machine if you didn’t have it before. You can uninstall that with the growl uninstaller available here

I believe item 4 should read:
~/Library/Application Support/ZumoDrive
I also found another preferences file:
~/Library/Preferences/com.zumodrive.ZumoDrive.plist

There doesn’t appear to be an option to “open at login” on my ZumoDrive installation. How does one uninstall it now on a Mac?

Now that there is no dock icon, the first step of the installation instructions is a bit different.
First, go to System Preferences, then the Accounts page, then click on the Login Items tab. Find ZumoDrive in the list and uncheck it. Then you can feel free to move on to the other steps.

I can’t find “Startup items”, I can’t find a “tray”. What do you mean by a “tray icon”? Where?
All of this is ridiculously complicated. I’m going to just dump the Zumodrive application in the waste bin and expect it to not cause any further problems. The rest of it is incomprehensible. I hate it.

Ian,
Startup Items is a Windows item as is “tray icon”. On the Mac, go to your System Preferences and click on your account. There you will see Login Items. In that list is an item named Zumo Drive. That is what you want to remove. That will keep it from trying to launch at login.
To completely remove all traces of the installation, you will need to follow the instructions above. They are quite clear if you know your way around the finder. You might also consider AppZapper for the Mac. It does everything for you when an app doesn’t have an uninstaller (and even if it does).

For the love of all that is Holy, how do I stop the ZumoDrive apearing on my desktop.
I have tried app zapper, search through all the library support files and preferences and trashed them, but the dam thing keep mounting on my desktop.
Any why on earth can’t you include and uninstaller in the installer, to avoid this !??
Any one please, can you help remove ZumoDrive?

I’ve done everything here and the icons will not go away.
“The item “ZumoDrive” cannot be moved to the trash because it is open.” is my error message. How do I close zumo?

This works for me on MacOS 10.5.8. It has been really tricky…
1) Go to System Preferences > Accounts. You will see “Boot” or similar in your User Profile (sorry, but I do not have the English version so the names of the elements are really my translations, could vary). Here you can disable ZumoDrive from starting on system boot. NOTE: Maybe that after rebooting the system you can simply delete it from Applications, but I have not tried like this.
2) Open a Terminal (it is located in Applications > Utilities. From here you can type the commando “ps -ax | grep Zumo”. You will find the Zumo process running from /Applications. The first number is the process ID, lets suppose is 250, you have to translate to your own result. Then, type the command “kill -9 250” or the number for your system. With this command, you will completely stop the program.
3) Now, eject the ZumeDrive unit.
4) Finally, goto Applications and move ZumoDrive to the Trash. Empty trash, and should be done!!!

Dave,
the uninstall should be located next to the ZumoDrive application in the Start menu.

It’s not. I have tried to reinstall it thinking it would ask me to repair or at least tell me i already have it, but it didn’t. It doesn’t show up in Start\all programs either.
